About the Index
The Nixon Index scores public-corruption cases against one fixed formula, published before any case is ruled. The standard unit is the Nixon. The reference artifact is Watergate, scored retroactively at 100. Every input cites a public record, and the arithmetic is shown on every ruling. The scores are opinions derived from that method; the records they rest on are listed so anyone can check them.
The Index takes no party. A ruling that spares one side and a ruling that indicts it are produced by the same five factors and the same weights. The method is the argument.
